The Tor Project, an open-source and free software non-profit project, is currently accepting its donations in nine various cryptocurrency coins. The separate website page is available to the donors to send their donations via cryptocurrency coins from March 18.
Cryptocurrency Donations:
At present, the crypto donors can directly send their donations to Tor. These cryptocurrency donations converted to fiat currency through the Karken exchange. The project made easy for donations to crypto lovers.
Sarah Stevenson, Fundraising Director of Tor, stated that Tor donors can send different cryptocurrency wallet addresses to the project. So the project will get a large number of funds in the form of cryptocurrencies.
The company has been accepting bitcoin as donations for so many years. In the previous years, the project accepted via BitPay which converts crypto to fiat payments.
The Tor project decided to allow cryptocurrencies because more donors requested crypto payments. Both cryptocurrency and the Tor Project communities give value to privacy.
The Project fixed on two things time and effort. The donors easily can donate their valuable money through crypto assets. It is easier for both the donor and the company. The effort to convert crypto assets to fiat currency made through the Karken exchange.
Donation Accepting Coins:
From the donations page, the project will accept Zcash, Dash, Ether, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, Stellar Lumens and Augur(REP) coins.
The Tor project encrypts traffic and helps digital anonymity. The users can use a variety of web browsers includes Tor’s browser to access the network. The primary aim of the project is users’ privacy and crypto field also.
Crypto industry is becoming a prominent role in different areas. It will serve privacy and security for users. The Tor project gave a new path to other non-profit organizations. The users get a convenient way to donate their crypto assets.
